The people are somalia, island falls under Somali territory according to the UN. It is more closer to Somalia then Yemen. I dont see any reason why TFG did wrong. They claimed it and it was a right decision.

Another Somali lie. Do you guys just pull facts from your ass? Socotra has the third most endemic species of biology in the world after the Galapagos (where Darwin made his infamous evolution theory) and the Hawaiian islands. It has more endemic specias then even Madagascar with its famous Lemurs. Endemic means only exist in that area like the Dragon's blood trees. The place is a biological goldmine which is another reason no country on earth will allow it to come under Somalis.
In the 1990s, a team of United Nations biologists conducted a survey of the archipelago’s flora and fauna. They counted nearly 700 endemic species, found nowhere else on earth; only Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands have more impressive numbers.

I wonder why Jaalle Siyaad didn't take Socotra with force when Somalia was strong.
Jaalle Siyaad only claimed lands that Somalis have historical claim to not one without a single trace of Somali history in it.

Somalia is a member of the UN. Yemen is a member of the UN. The UN recognizes Socotra as part of Yemen. Where do you get the island falls under Somali territory "according" to the UN? Are you dyslexic or suffering other forms of mental handicap?

It is true, some Somalis used to eat fish like the Majeerteen and remnants of the Swahili in the south but Somalis did not really eat fish and almost all none knew how to swim. Actually both the British and Italians write about the fear Somalis have of the sea. In that context I am not surprised that Somalis have almost zero historical footprint on an island so close to Somalia. Somalis only learned about the ocean and sea-faring after '91.

Arab lovers always like to hallucinate and be apologists on the behalf of arab foreigners.

According to the UN Somalia has right to 200 nautical miles of water territory, the same as South Africa and the same as USA. Socotra falls within the 200 miles and is therefore in Somali territory. The island has a Somali population and is much closer to Somalia then yemen. Yemen is only allowed to have 200 nautical miles of water, but they have exceeded that by claiming socotra and a series of other islands, one of them is only 42 KM away from Puntlands coast. That is a serious issue and the new goverment in Somalia has adressed that Issue.

Only reason nobody has stood against Yemens claim is because of Somalia`s situation through out the decades.

Somalia will use Socotra as an army base where we can counter piracy so that the international community wont have their cargo stolen. And the international community will stand behind us.

Here is what happens when dummies tried to read international law and try to apply it independently. I thought you were going to bring something like Somalia's and Ethiopia's boundary being checkered instead of straight even according to the UN which means dispute but you brought an international economic maritime law you just heard from that TFG fiasco with Kenya and have taken it upon yourself to translate and implement on a far-fetched ridiculous case. I suppose Malaysia should also claim Singapore because it comes within 200 nautical miles?

There you go, just say that you love arab masters

If its ok for any selfrespecting Somali to allow foreigners reduce your water territory from 200 miles to 40, then that person should not be dealt with like a sane person. therefore im done debating with a moron.

Inshallah we will take what is ours back. :up :som: :

Socotra was never ours and will never be ours. Be satisfied with what you have instead of claiming things that never belonged to you.

Saaxib, there is no such thing as "pan african" its an ideology made by the Effects of white cruelty on the Colonial era. Nationalism is more real then Pan africanism today.

Furthermore i support the TFG`s efforts of taking back Socotra and its islands from foreigners in middle east, just as i supported when they took back the Somali embassy from indian bussinesmen.
