The TFG finally seems to have gotten serious and anounced that together with Amisom, this month we will see a Kismaayo offensive.
I always wondered why Kismaayo wasn't priority, it seems to be more strategical for Al Shabaab than Mogadishu. Great move from TFG.

This is nothing to do with clan, grow up. I'm just tired of this al shabaa nonsense who will be of no use to the somalis in the future.
I try hard not to let a few disgruntled somalis on this forum affect my thoughts regarding their tribes.
How can you defeat al shabaab without attacking their front door? Liberating Kismaayo is the only way forward at this stage.

Kismayo is the least important al-shabaab town. It has no significance. Al-shabab control half of Xamar now so talking about Kismayo is just crazy when they can't even reach Afgooye.

Kismaayo and the jubba region is one of the least developed regions in Somalia, it has no road network no serious diaspora and not much business to tax, infact they already choke the economy during their little stay in Kismaayo.Executive wrote:Kismayo is the least important al-shabaab town. the Shabeela regions, Banadir and Hiiraan is where any power can become really powerful, because there is road network, a strong and involved diaspora who engages the region, business is significant and tax earnings are large, endless reasons walahi, that is why alshabab is fighting so hard for this part of Somalia.
alshabab will not be defeated in Kismaayo.
