Has Qabyalad and political differences killed Somalinimo?
With 'somalinimo' i refer not the national or even ethnic concept of being Somali, but a far more profound sense of common identity due to shared culture, language, religion and norms and values (+ common enemy ehtio lol) that makes you and I naturally closer than other people. In my opinion this Somalinimo should transend political and tribal differences in order for Somalis to be able to put aside their differences and come together and support eachother by looking at what their commen ground is rather than differences.
Let me give you an example. If two Somalis would meet in the diaspora they emmeditely have a sense of kinship and commen identity; regardless of whether they are bantu, somali, from opposing clans, political factions or even countries like Kenya, Ethiopia and Djabouti.
So, has this 'Somalinimo' been eroded by Qabyalad & Qabiil (that we have always had) or rather Imported (and irreversable) foreign political ideologies.
Why can't/Is there a chance that, despite their differences, different Somali factions can come together to achieve their commen and individual objectives?
How will the new polical landscape amoung Somalis, including developments such as Alshabab, Somaliland and Puntland, status quo's such as Somalia, the fading/assimilating of Somalis in Ethiopia and Kenya and the diapora with significant resources and power whilst some are psychologically damaged and full of hatred because of the civil war, affect the ability of different Somali factions can come together to achieve their commen and individual objectives?
Has 'Somalino' killed by Qabyaalad or Imported politics?
