Michael Maryama

Does anyone know the story behind this man. He was a Somali nationalist according to Google searches. A former governor of Togdheer region and Christian.

Michael Maryama was a hardcore unionist leading the UNF.

I actually know a Somali guy here in Sweden who claims to be related to him.

Oh yeah he also hailed from the Isaaq clan and he was not Muslim.

Micheal Mariano was a Somaliland politician he set up the NUF party in 1958 and was also the chairman of that party he was not from togdheer he was from sanaag and was elected from Sanaag By his people he graduated From st anthony highschool in yemen Adan. During the Siyad bare regime he was the Ambassador to Zambia For Somalia , He was also deputy Minister under Cigaals reign in 1967 he died in 1985 In Xammar and was given state burial. His descendents live shefield Uk.

actually michael mariano wanted Somaliland to be under The UK for another 5 to 10 years so that they can learn the basics for Self governance like the koonfurians did from 1950 till 1960. Sir dauglas hall agreed with that but snl and xisbullah disagreed if we stayed For another 10 years under The British Empire who knows we would've never united with The Koonfurians

But allah had other plans

What he set up the NUF party in Somaliland elected from sanaag i think that is Somaliland Michael mariano luuly.

All of them hailed from North Somalia, and were also not Muslim.
