Are Forums dead?

I used to remember how active Forums were back in the days (2004-2007). On Somalinet, the section UK-Europe was very active. More so than the General Discussions section. Now that place is dead, and most other sections are the same. Only General Discussions section is still active, since all remaining forummners came to this section.

The trend can be witnessed in other forums too.

So my question is: Are forums dead? And which medium replaced its place anno 2011?

I THINK since BIRTH of Facebook, Twitter, Platlka etc FORUMS has begin to vanush gradually !!!!!
