Rapes in Somalia...

Post by Alchemist »

A lot of rapes used to happen before the war in Somalia and most women didnt report it due to the fact that unless she was from a known family nothing would have happened to the rapist. Actually in most cases it would only bring shame to the victim and her family. Once a close friend of the family told me she witnessed her uncle raping a six year old girl and when she informed her mother about it she got yelled at for trying to destroy the good name of her Abti. God knows how many more people the Abti raped :? Once one of our maids was raped coming back from outside at night. She could hardly walk when she arrived home. There was also this other maid who used to work for my aunt. She was raped by a male maid and all that happened to him was he got fired. Shit used to happen all the time and nobody cared unless your family had money or were connected to more powerful people. Ofcouse it got a thousand times worse after the government was overthrown. Some people try to paint this beautiful picture of Somalia before the war but the truth is Somalia was going downhill for a very long time. Only a few people had money and the rest of the country was suffering. I honestly feel ALLAH is punishing us collectively for our sins. Even if we didnt take part in it we turned a blind eye. All this destruction taking place cant just be on a few warworlds and one dictator, it takes a whole nation to get this sort of punishment.

Well if a girl gets raped and lives in a Al-shaytan patrolled area we all know what's going to happen.. :x

Another reason is that reporting it will cast some sort of shame on the girl and she will be always know as the girl who got raped.. :!:

A women being raped is not something to hide and when Somalia experiences Peace then there must be insitutions put in place for this kind of things. I know Somali women raised in the western world will definetly fill the vacuum needed.

Rape also can bring aids. So there must be death sentences for these kind of things.

i heard that women who were raped (or had consenting premarital sex but where embarrassed of having a bastard child) used to dump their new born babies in the city centre or in alleyways where they'd die or be eaten by wild dogs. :?

Alcha...... i really do wish u had sought therapy on your childhood trauma of molestation.

Anyway, as you know war happens all over the world, its not unique to somalia alone. This is all Allaaah swt will, you cannot explain or exaggerate. Yes, you are correct the sins that was happening in somalia in the 80s can be considered as Alaah's swt wrath, but that doesnt matter really. War is a fact of humanity all over the world. Sometimes it just happens without any major reason. The iraq and afghanista war for example, what possesed Bush--to invade these two countries just for the hell of it? And how many millions of people have died after that?(including american soldiers) I think war has a purpose for Allaah swt plan, we dont know it, only God knows. Let us just thank Allaah for enabling our lives to be here in the west, peacefully and luxuriously. :| Amiiin. :|

Alchemist, are you a former Ciyaal Faay Cali and feeling remorseful now after all these years?

God does not do collective punishment and doesn't punish the son for the sins of the father.
