Ruunti the longer Somalia remains in chaos the stronger the case for Somaliland. Somalia really needs to fix its own back yard before worrying about the succession of Somaliland. Though I do think a stable somalia is the biggest obstacle to Somalilands quest for independance.

The mistake that Somaliland made was in 1960 joining somalia.

If somaliland was seeking autonomy/independence then good for them I just hate it when southerners in here come and shed crocodile tears about the love for somaliland when in fact they reduced their own regions to flintstones era.

Siilanyo is an depressed old man, nothing he says really matters at the end of the day. People are starving in Hargeysa markas bu ku faaniyo stability iyo peace. Ya uu sheego that shit doesn't feed people nor provides them with work. :|

Patriot. Indeed that. Was our biggest mistake joining and sharing a country with the koonfurians but we corrected that mistake. Noble man even if somalia turned in to a janno. Tommorow the ppl of s.land made it clear somaliland independence is sacred to them and is not even up for discussion

Say no more.

If people do not understand something as basic as that what hope is there for a greater Somalia? NONE!

Somaliland clan demographic estimates:

Total population: 3.5million
Isaaq: 2.5million

60% of population is nomadic: 2.1million

The 1.4million city and town residents who determine the politics of the country are the core voters and the ones most impacted by lack of jobs. These are the hardcore who believe recognition is the only way forward to enhance their quality of life. They abide by the law mostly, these is the group that is exposed to khat, their children have basic to university education and they are the future backbone of somali society. Among this group exists the phenomenon of Tahriib and the bulk of those migrating are university graduates. Thi brightest minds are being lost in the seas, rotting in jails across the african continent and those that have survived rape, murder, hunger and despair find their way into europian camps. Many do not recover the scars of the journey and may already be preganant, contracted HIV and become a burdon on their new society.

The future is uncertain for the somaal of africa we have seen 20years of brain drain due to war and we have learnt nothing to prevent a further 20years of brain drain.

We have no Empathy!
