New Governor Maxamed Gahayr Hersi is doing his job well so far. Just last week there was assistance from the Oodweyne region adminstration to the Raydab Khaatumo and Haji Salaax districts (in the Ethiopia - Somaliland border which some droughts took place). Not to mention the regional adminstration of Mr Gahayr banned any tree cutting for coal use and any other unnecessary things. Anybody found of damaging the environment of the region will be jailed and fined. Solar cooking technology, solar electricity and Somgas being the alternative to tree cutting in the rural nomadic areas.
