There is no question Somalis in Somalia mainly are facing a dire and bleak situation. The reality of the ground is unbearable and living conditions is one the worst in the world.

However, like they always say "every cloud has a silver lining".

The best thing about Somalia is we are not landlocked. We have the longest coastline in Africa. We will always have the sea, in the future, alllah willing, if there is a massive drought, future governments can built a desalination plant plant. This is definitely the technology of the future. Our waters stretch 200nm into the Indian ocean and we have abundant amount of fish and untapped resources in our water. Those who have seen the video, "greening Eritrea", can easily see the benefit of fish farms in the future and sea agriculture in the future. One of our biggest blessing is our coast. Also we connect Africa to Middle East and Asia, Somali with it's port could easily become a manufacturing powerhouse, if the conditions were ripe.

We are also underpopulated, this is a positive if you look at it. With our potential Oil/Gas and mineral resources, we can easily turn things around with a stable government. Smaller population means shorter time in developing the quality of life for the people. We also have a large strong diaspora who would return in the eve of a changing Somalia.

Daily deaths of starvation, diseases, which can be cured, babies dieying in child birth, people being shot----really Oxi --imagine the millions of Somalis who died so far---what life would they have had today if there was a government?
