Leaving the West and its interests out of this for a minute and looking at it from an Arab point of view I think the no fly zone makes sense. For a start, Darfur is an ongoing conflict and Arabs ALWAYS support the man in charge. However, becuase of the risk all Arab leaders face in their own countries if they are seen to support Qaddafi, they have no choice but to (appear to) act swiftly by agreeing a no fly zone. After all, there is no point kissing western backsides if, like Hosni or Ben Ali, you stand the risk of not remaining in power for long. This no fly zone is all about self preservation and the winning of the Arab street.
