it happens, young girls are often married off to much older men, but most often this is conducive to cultural trappings, i don't think a young girl of 14 would marry a 40 year old at her own will...

not sure about the "shame" implications though, if anything, an older woman marrying a much younger man would be deemed more "shameful"

since i'm off the market now, i don't ponder these questions... but when i was single, 5 years younger was definitely not an option...matter fact, 5 hours younger was too young.
