Re: Goodbye to the Somali Shilling in SL
They need to form some kind of economic policy instead of waiting and reacting
e.g. most people back home can afford/endure an exchange rate of $1=6000Sls
Back in 2008 it was $1=7500Sls, then the government "reacted" by introducing more dollars
result; nowadays its $1=5000Sls, and now they're reacting again and introducing 1000 shilling notes
to encourage the rate to go up, they're not thinking of inflation

Re: Goodbye to the Somali Shilling in SL
It is clear This has to do more politics than reforming the money in Somaliland, why not it didn’t happen past twenty years? because the whole wealthy of Burco and Yaroowe that has direct connection in south Somalia depended on Somali shillings, another word the Somali shilling was their ticket to get rich and to takeover the hundreds of millions dollars trade between south and north Somalia, now Siilaanyo is the president he is encouraging them these businessmen that hail from his subclan to takeover the entire Somaliland Business by converting their Somali shilling to Somaliland currency.
This may bring a short term success, but the jewel of wealthy is not currency conversion, it is who controls the trade routes and their currency, what about trade between the south will it completely become dry? because Somaliland currency is useless any place beyond Burco, what would indhodeero do when he wants to buy livestock from south Somalia? will he use dollar currency that will make the market to demand more dollars and then force to Somaliland currency to fell way below the Somali shilling? this is very complicated and only a recognized government with high reserves of gold and other foreign currencies can do the smooth currency transition.
