The E1b1b1a1 (E-V12) lineage is indeed most diverse in Upper Egypt but that does not mean most of the ancestry of Somalis is from this area. It just means that ONE lineage from thousands of years ago from Upper Egypt became dominant in Somalis. You should read about genetic founder effect. The ancestry of Somalis is mostly local and not foreign.

Cultural things like that can get lost over time, so maybe the Afar and Amhara at one point in time did use those things..AbuukarSubeer wrote: Yeah, but i certainly believe there is some kinda relation between us and the ancient egyptians.,i mean the walkin sticks the old men use back home

The Ancient Egyptians were roughly 1/3 Nilotic 1/3 Horn African (like the Beja) 1/3 Middle Eastern, this is mostly based on genetic research done on upper Egyptians.

Actually none has a more profound stick culture that Oromos in the horn. Its so complicated in traditional Oromo customs even i don't understand it completely.AbuukarSubeer wrote:Yeah, but i certainly believe there is some kinda relation between us and the ancient egyptians.,i mean the walkin sticks the old men use back homeMckuus wrote:The E1b1b1a1 (E-V12) lineage is indeed most diverse in Southern Egypt but that does not mean most of the ancestry of Somalis is from this area. I think that type of stick is scared of followers of the diree shiekh hussien cult in bale, southern Oromia.
