I don't think I've seen the Jaandheer done alive? I've seen girls going back forth and clapping, and it looks similar to something like that, but no feet action or anything.

Feet action? I believe I know what you're talking about. I have a Hawiye friend and he showed me videos of how the Hawiyes in Southern Somalia do their Dhaantos, which is similar to that of Central African dances. Dances from the feet and hips.

Jaandheer is amongst the ORIGINAL Dhaanto in the Somali Peninsula. You're Hawiye and I wouldn't be surprise if you don't know what Jaandheer is all about, no pun intended.

AND...what on earth is "Dheel"?

Honestly, I have seen the so-called "Hawiye Dances" and they resemble much like that of the Central African dances, mind you, there is nothing wrong with that.

I'll contact my Abgaal "hommie" and ask him what they call the dance he showed me.

I'll break it down for you dear, there is nothing called Hawiye dance. We all don't dance the same way, speak the same way or live the same place. Second thing, your a young guy Qabiil haa ku qafiifin (Basically drop this Qabil obsession). We can talk about dances without 'Qabilnizing' it.

I'll tell you what dances we do in the South, Shirib, Sharax, Niiko/Kabeebey, Suurow and others that I'm probably missing out on.
