Somalis are stuck in a quicksand.
Every Somali knows the problems facing our nation but no one knows how to fix it...We're like drug addicts, we know qabilism, war, hatred, division are all not good for us but we just cant help ourselves...So we'll remain in this cyle maybe till judgement day who knows.

Its only a matter of time before things get better.

If there is a reason for everything that happens in this world, and somalis are part of a bigger plan(God's), then their tragedy will have a meaning in the future. I just hope there will be somalis left and a country that unites them as one unique homogenous group when troubles are long gone. I am not sure in my life time I will see that kind of Somalia. I simply have no faith in Somalis.

Re: Somalis are stuck in a quicksand.
The solution is that we eventually become the brain gain for our own nation. We should return to our country eventually, but with a "positive" bagage. We should be a shining light of example for the young Somali children growing up everywhere, especially in Somalia.
Somalia today is at the position as it once were when the SYL was created (minus the infrastructure and unity). It could be a reality that a highly educated miniority qabilist diaspora hijacks this golden opportunity and that cannot be allowed.
I am willing to see any Somali from Garissa to Jigjiga, to Djibouti as my fellow Somali brother. It is important for all of us to take that important step, before we return to our country with confusion and tribalism in our baggage.

Don't worry. Nanotechnology and advanced A.I will solve all our problems. Rejoice in the coming singularity.

The problem is that instead of teaching their children good things some parents choose to teach them about qabil and stuff like that. I didn't learn about qabil from my parents at all, I learned it from other somali people my age in university.
