Salafism has become associated with literalist and puritanical approaches to Islamic theology.
Salafis categorically reject the Wahhabi label, because they consider it to be largely unfounded, an object of some controversy. Salafis will argue that Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab did not establish a new school of thought but rather revived the pure, unadulterated Islam that was practiced by the earliest generations of Muslims.

You dunno what you're talking about..."Salafis" reject, rebuke and refute Al-Shabaab harder than any secularist does. You're just regurgitating something you read or heard from someone else who didn't know what they're talking about.

Salafits rejecting Al Shabab. Now that's rich.
I wouldn't expect you to believe anything Sean Hannity didn't spoon-feed you

What's with the quotation marks around Salafis? But, interesting take.
Cuz Al-Shabaab are only "Salafis" in the eyes of the masses because Fox News and Neocons say so...when you do a critical analysis and compare their ideology alongside true Salafi doctrine, you find the two are diametrically opposed to one another. Anybody that considers Al-Shabaab Salafis only do so because they've heard others refer to them as Salafis.

When are you planning on joining your hero anwar al awlaki?
He's not my hero, while I'm 100% sure you'd take a bullet to the head for Rush Limbaugh and them. The sad thing you don't realize is it's those same people who would be the ones putting that bullet in your head.
@ KOW-they're doing the typical flipflop. A year or two ago Al Shabab was being heralded as the salafi saviors, and now they are being rejected when people got to taste true salafism.
The salafreaks over at Islamic Awakening forums still accept them as such though.
Salafism also know as Wahhabis is a new cult religion. the founder of salafism was mohamed abdulwahaab. most of salafis books use actually forged or changed hadiiths.
salafis sheikhs in saudi arabia all of them come from singel qabiil whichs called AALA SHEIKH. waxayna ka soo jeedan dhamaantood maxamed abdulwahaabs grand grand children. aala sheikh family have monopoly of making fatwaas in saudi arbia. they have monopoly of publishing books. all books which wahaabis love are written many years after the founder maxamed abdulwahaab died. but those books are published as they were written bye maxamed abdulwahaabs himself.

Of course he's your hero. Isn't he the one in the cave struggling for your salafi creed? Why are you rejecting him now, you cowardly dog.
