Re: Question - quick!
Invest on Cooling Pads
If you do plan to use your laptop for long periods of time, it is a good idea to invest on a cooling pad. Laptop Cooling pads are actually trays that contain extra blowers to allow more cool air to enter and push warm air out. These cooling fans are extremely cheap and while it may cause your laptop to look a bit bulky, these would greatly minimize the chances for your laptop to overheat.

Similar to what I my laptop is sitting on.

Re: Question - quick!
If the laptop gets too hot, then the laptop will shut down to prevent any permanent damages to components. This same of thing can happen to MACs and PCs too. It's either your CPU or GPU in laptop that's too hot. If you don't have any warranty, then open up the laptop and pick off any "big" dusts you see for quickie fix.

Re: Question - quick!
The heat means ur blocking the fan...the reason your laptop is switching off is because your battery is dying, literally. After like 1-2 years, the cells within the battery begin to die off, which is why ur laptop switches off even though it's at 50-60% charge.1_londoner wrote:Ok, so my laptop gets really really hot and then it proceeds to switch itself off. Re: Question - quick!
The fan is blocked so the laptop overheats and switches itself off.
Good tip is to place a thick book below your laptop it doesn't block the fan so you can leave it on your bed

Re: Question - quick!
Its over heating which can only mean, the fan isn't fully functioning you might wanna get that fixed immediately otherwise, it'll melt down the hardware.
