Since we now have a clear foreign policy with the kulmiye Government and the political Flexibility is being played out in the horn and africa and beyond the Arabian Peninsula With the dictators being removed. With the Arab spring as we don't know where the process is heading with the Arab world and who is going to replace who, there are to many inflection points and uncertainties there.
We already know new diplomatic relations are to be developed between Cairo and Adis ababa as the Ethiopian government continues to build dams along the blue river nile. When Somalia has a full fledged permanent government in Mogadishu and they move from this transitional period some where in 2012/2013 and dialogue starts between Somaliland and Somalia about living side by side as two Nations.
lets say worse case scenario talks result in nothing and a new political rifts erupt and Hostilities continue between the two Countries, what will Ethiopia's role in all of this be we all know Wikeleaks Cables showed that the Ethiopian government supports semi recognition for Somaliland. What will the role be of the Ethiopian government will they set up themselves as more in a neutral way or will they take sides since Ethiopia borders both Somaliland and Somalia.

Re: Guray Come in
lets wait and see..
Zenawi will have to choose a policy..
this talk about semi-recognition was first said by him, but its not his idea, it came from the US state department, and from the EU.
He has to choose sides, on one side he is losing influence in somalia, because the americans had enough of his interference ,
i think he will sit on the fence for another couple of years, till the momentum starts somewhere in 2012-13..
Egypt is the main antagonist in the arab league and the AU.
it is frustrating to have 1 country hold recognition over you, but in this case its egypt..
if egypt at least backs of and doesnt veto anything , then the gulf countries, sudan and morroco and algeria will go along..
