brute force attack is like guessing someone ones password by trying all the possible answer
dos is sending ping to specific IP till u over run it and can no longer provide server..u just make sure there is a lack of availability of the system it takes alott of time sending the ping every second..but Double DoS is another level u attack it from millions of computer to one specific IP and u over run it in a matter of second looooooooolz

You can just do a extended ping from the command line like:

Ping
IP
Target IP Address
Repeat Size
Datagram Size


and exaust all the bandwidth until its unavailable.
