Even the president is now making press releases accusing others of being spies for Siad Barre!HA for a long time hide behind Gedabursi to deflect attention from themselves, but Cigaal's actions for what he though was keeping Somaliland together in 1996 is coming back to roost. HJ vs. HY rivalry will destroy Somaliland and HA will have to cry from the sidelines as these two bitter foes duke it out. No more using the non-Isaaq as a referee between Isaaq. One Isaaq will have to sit in the seat in the next election and we will see if the rest of Isaaq are ready to truly share power between themselves.
You only have to look at this forum to see what might be instore. You have Cali-Gaab and LiqayeTDH who go into uproars everytime a Garxajis puts his feet down and seem to display even more passive-aggressive anger toward them than they do anyone else. And you have Siciid85 and Yawle who are markedly opposed to HJ and Siilaanyo although Siciid has shown a remarkable ability to stay patient (maybe because GX got defeated in 1996 and they have learned not to sway too far out in mutiny).
The HA have of course, although crafty, made their bed with Siilaanyo in the earlier fight and so are markedly sidelined on his behalf. Although, by their very crafty nature, they will be for sale to the highest bidder.
Interesting times ahead of Somaliland domestic politics.
