I Think Kenya's Here To Stay

Post by Murax »

Lets be honest, they didn't launch such a full scale invasion like this, just for the sake of 2 aid workers. I've heard rumors that they plan to make a permenant bases in the deep south and stay for awhile :-O

Btw shame on Shishkabab and their constant booto. I can understand Ethiopia but even Kenyans they are running away from faster than a cheetah. Within a couple days Kenya went from Liboi to a few kilometres from Kismaayo

Ethiopia with 40,000 troops couldn't stay sxb, they got their ass handed to them.

I doubt the show and tell kenyan army can manage to stay without retreating with their tail between their legs.

Also Anyone who's rooting for kenya and hates Alshabab should rethink because it will give the boys major sympathy power.

The Kenyans will leave as soon as the first AMISOM boots are on the ground in Kismayo. This could be as soon as within a month if not much earlier.

Kenyans is there to stay but will they succeed?

Kenya AND CHINA have been preparing for this move well over a year. I googled "Kenya Somalia chine Wikileaks" without the quotes and here's some copy/paste

Sep 6:
U.S. 'Opposed Kenya On Somalia Buffer Zone'
The United States strongly opposes Kenya's effort to establish a buffer zone in southern Somalia, a leaked diplomatic cable shows. In the December 2009 message recently posted by WikiLeaks, a US State Department official is said to have "forcibly underscored" Washington's concerns over reports that Kenya was "recruiting and training an ethnic Somali force as part of a 'Jubaland' initiative". US deputy Assistant Secretary of State Karl Wycoff expressed America's position to Foreign minister Moses Wetang'ula at a meeting in Djibouti, the cable indicates

Meanwhile, other documents, which indicate how closely the US is watching China's rise in Africa, claimed Beijing was providing military and intelligence support to Kenya with the help of a corrupt official. A 17 February memo from the US embassy in Nairobi said China was providing weapons to Kenya "in support of its Somalia policies", and computers and telecommunications equipment to the Kenyan National Security and Intelligence Service (NSIS).

The memo said that, in January, China provided "weapons, ammunition, supplies, and textiles for making uniforms" via the Chinese military import-export corporation Catic. The goods were to in support of the GOK's Kenya's "Jubaland initiative", Jubaland is being the southern-most Somali province on the borderng with Kenya.

We don't know who is behind these kidnappings. Kenyan secret services can easily coach some somali guys into doing such actions.

What a crock of bull. Kenya can barely control its own borders what more do you expect for it to maintain a standing army inside Somalia.

If Kenya can't maintain its grip, it will flee and look extremely weak. The loss would be too much too bear and embolden Kenyan rebels like the Sabot Liberation Movement

Advo,

Runti Shishkabab ain't crap man. Ragtag, barely trained Doolow militia destroyed them in Gedo
Another misfit outfit Ahlu Sunnah destroyed them in Galguduud

And now the Kenyan Militiary has captured almost 3 regions in 36 hours.

RovingMadness,

I don't think it was part of AMISOM's plan to deploy in Kismaayo. I think between the TFG, Raskambooni, and other elements they ahve enough to hold that town.

Abdiwahab252,

This says more about Soamlia's extrremely fragmented state then about Kenya's prowess. As a sujuwi I know You're celebrating.

I really don’t give a fuck. I am so annoyed and disheartened with the behavior of Somalis that I am fully in support of any foreign authority that might bring stability. Guul Kenya.

Murax,

Sijues deeply hate the Kenyan State for treating them like 2nd class citizens. They used to rely on the Somali government to support them, financially, politically and even morally. Whenever Kenya acted aggressively towards those in NFD, Jalle Siyad would flex his muscles and warn them to avoid harming the NFD Somalis.

Kenya is due to drill oil in Isiolo and Habasweyn areas of the NFD and thus they cannot withstand a hostile group in their backyard thus they are leveling the ground before real investments are put in place.

At the Same time there is a proposal to build Lamu port that will serve South Sudan and some parts of Ethiopia.

This only means there is a lucrative potential in creating a buffer zone called Jubaland.
