I have always wondered why every somali you meet talks about going back home while paradoxically that same person is in the process of bringing a loved one to the diaspora that he/she despices.

Also, why somali women dress in a certain way when they are on the streets (e.g hijabified) but at weddings and meetings they wear the dirac.

We are a nation of show-offs; a nation whose people has shallow minds.

It is about superficial things; shiny things; you see men wearing expensive suits although most of them don't know how to tie a tie. You see them driving expensive cars without licenses. You see them boast about everything etc.

lol u are so right...people will look at you like u are an alien if they see u without hijab on the streets laakin at weddings it's OK to wear see-through dirac with everything out to be seen.
