working mothers

Post by zulaika »

there's this SJP movie called "I don't know how she does it"....basically juggling motherhood, career...the whole works.

walahi hat's off to these ladies who are doing it all because they have to bring home the bread, slice the bread, serve the bread and clean crumb thereafter...

however I am baffled at women who have the choice to stay home with their children but decide partake the fray regardless.....and for reasons all too proverbial to mention here.

It takes strong will to do it all and for some there is no choice. However those who have the choice and still manage both I can understand their reasoning one they want to see the fruits of their labour; for all those hours of studying and stressing over exams and what not. Secondly some times you just need a break from the family  kids and house duties hence part time work to still continue ur career and do something for urself.

But stay home mother is also rewarding.

what kind of reasons do you working mothers want to work for? are you trying to escape the slightly depressing life of household caretaking? do you feel you have to be a portion of the house breadwinner? do you fear extreme laziness in staying at home and hence feel to let loose? do you feel the need to compete with other women especially merchant class women?

I'm thinking about homeschooling so there goes my career. Between thinking of the menu, preparing the menu and feeding them what you prepared, I think it is enough to make me stay home all day long. On a serious note, I couldn't do it even if I wasnt planning on homeschooling. This society we live in as Muslims will not allow any devoted Muslim parents to send their kids off to daycare/school and pursue their career. A mother needs to stay home and cater to her kids so she can attend to their needs in every aspect of their development. So between that and the yoga classes, what woman has time for work?

I don't know about other women but all the years of studying and worry and exams and...if at the end of that I just sit at home I would be kinda pissed. I would do it to taste the fruits of my labour...not that children are not fruits of labour

As a mother of two, working full time and Uni Student.. what can I say.. I sometimes get a phone call from my husband saying 'the kids and I have not seen you for three days!! we forgot how you look like! please try to come home before 10'

I am so bloody f-king tired! but I can't see myself staying home day in and day out... it would do my bloody head in

I am just a greedy biatch that wants it all.
