Past, Present, & Future Governing Systems.

Post by zingii »

As a nation we have experimented with different types of governing systems and all failed miserably. We have seen (xoolo dhaqato system) which means people lived without governing system. We have seen the (qabiil system) where every tribe ruled it’s self. We have seen the (sultanate system) but that didn’t work as well. Then came the (civilian system) where for the first time the country known as Somalia was entirely ruled by one governing system except for the NFD & Ogaden regions. This civilian system failed too because of the scale of corruption that was taking place. Then came the (military rule) which brought back a sense of pride and nationalism that was lost to the people but it failed just like the others before it. The military rule was followed by the (warlord system) which created more problems than solve any. The warlord system was followed by the (TNG/TFG systems) which were/are headed by the same warlords but it too was/is doomed.

Now it seems we have exhausted and experimented with almost every system that there is if not all, and it seems we have made a full circle. We are going back to the system that governed us before the colonials set foot on our soil. The federal system is being established where every region runs it own affairs like the days of the (qabiil system). The two systems (the federal & qabiil systems) are one of same kind. The only difference is the name it goes by today.

Now my question is, is the qabiil route (meaning federal system) our way out of this mess or is it bound to fell too?

The Solution lies in Islam.

Federal System is not workable in Somalia if u are looking for a united strong and economically viable Somalia.

A governing system based on Sharia law has not managed to plant its roots deep in to the ground for it to withstand the endlessly blowing winds. To this day they are trying to gain a foothold in the political arena but are unable to.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ZOOMALIA, BUT SECESSION IS THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR PUNTLAND TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL. BEFORE BRITS AND ITALIANS INVADED, OUR LAND WAS RULED BY THE GREAT MAJERTEEN AND WARSANGELI SULTNATES.
UNLIKE SOMALILAND WHO CHOSE TO JOIN "ITALIAN SOMALILAND" IN 1960, THE FORMER SULTANATES OR MODERN-DAY PUNTLAND WAS FORCED INTO THE UNION.
AFTER DECADES OF DICTAORSHIP, WARLORDISM, AND SOUTHIE SHABABISTS, I THINK ITS TIME PUNTLAND SAY'S GOODBYE ZOOMALIA

Secession would make you (laan-gaab).

As a laan-gaab your counterparts would push you around 24/7 with impunity and have their way with you.

Islam is the solution since Allah created us and knows us most he prescribed that use Islam as governing system.

Federalism cant work in Somalia and the concept is not there. We neither need Federal System if we r true to our selves and nor r we mature enough to build federal System.

I dont how me stating what i deem to be a fact could equate to me being MAD.

ps, by laangaab i meant by population wise compared to that of your neighbors (itobiya) and the rest of the region where they number either close to hundered million or over on avarage.

I would say democracy, but Somali people are too ignorant and superstitious to elect their own leaders.
I would say Federal system, but that just makes all Somali people docile poodles for Ethiopia to push around.
I would say shariah Islamic state, errrr....no the fuck i wouldn't
Thus the only viable system is military dictatorship, preferably under a benevolent despot.

If you want to have a meaningful discussion at least try and be a little bit more impartial. You criticise every system in your post but the military dictatorship which basically hijacked the will and freedom of Somalis. Now, this is not the place or topic to dissect the pros & cons of the MSB era but lol at glossing over it as a system which ''brought back a sense of pride and nationalism that was lost to the people''. Of course the politicians during civilian rule were inherently corrupt...but this carried on under MSB and continues to this day.

Somalis do not really understand how a responsible federal system works.
They want to create their own little mini countries that ignore the edicts of the national government while perusing short term tribal interests, often at the expense of national interests.

come on dude, didn't i say it failed aswell and did not work at the end?
how did i criticise it less than the others when i clearly
stated how it failed like those before it.

Criticise me but breh atleast give me ur input of what you think
of the question i posed at the bottom.

You implied that the reason why it failed was because the concepts of nationalism and pride 'were lost on the people'. It's whatever though.

As for the topic at hand, I think a democractically elected unitary government is still the best option we have at the moment. I believe federalism is unnecessary and costly in the case of Somalia. We are one people who share the same dhaqan/religion/ethnicity (more or less), I don't see why we need the extra expense of regulating at the federal level. Having said that, Somalis (like other Africans) see elections as a winner takes all zero sum game...so after every election we will probably have a bunch of disgruntled nomads.

So for this reason I'm also willing to roll with James Dahl's idea of a UAE system.

Mini states would only weaken us for our enemies and only serve their interests. I will consider such an option if and when both NFD & Ogaden regions gain their freedom.
