I didn't know I had a profile that was apparently visible to the whole world wide web these folks are going insane.

If you have a google account and you care about your privacy keep on top of it.

Also be sure to sign out of your google account before going onto youtube.

Unless you have a Youtube account in which case you have to be logged on to access it.

On the other hand apparently if you stay logged on to Facebook while surfing it tracks your movements to create "personalised advertising".

Google does the same with "personalized ads". I don't even have tabs open when I use gmail or facebook.

What I meant about youtube was that your gmail account simultaneously acts as an immediate youtube account. Go ahead, try this. Log into gmail, and go surf youtube. Video titles and subjects will then be used for adsupport. In the top right you will see you gmail account. This has been my experience. This is unless you have your youtube account set to automatically log in. Which I can't understand why anyone would do so.

...no... it still changes to your gmail account. Even if you are logged in while using youtube, and then open your gmail account, it logs you out of your youtube account and uses gmail.

Both my Gmail and Youtube accounts are set to automatic log in.
