I knew some idiots would use this as an opportunity to try and downplay what Somalis have overcome and achieved since the civil war, which even foreigners have praised. .
There is every reason to compare Yourself with the rest of the World with the exception of the G20 bloc. Georgainians are Human beings just like Somalis so it is stupidity to feel like You cannot hold Yourself accountable by comparing Yourself with other Countres, this case being Georgia. Self realization of Your humble stature sure it might breed humility, but it can also light a fire and instill ambition. There is not a town in Somalia today that has clean running water, sewage or any signifigant industry other then shipping off camels off a port. Be that as it may theres nothing wrong with that everyone starts from somewhere but to sit back and be happy with that is ludicrous. That praise You speak of in regards to foreigners praising Somalia are really back handed compliments. "For a people that don't have a Government...." "For a nation that is Stateless....". To approach the civilized world You wanna hear stuff like "Stable Government with a vibrant, emerging economy..." " type compliments.

Did you know that upto the 1970s South korea had a GDP lower than most african countries including Somalia? Now they are the 11th richest country in the world with a high-tech industry e.g 7 of the 10 biggest shipbuilding companies are South Korean. Somalis could takeover africa and the indian ocean, economics-wise, if we set our minds to it. But as it happens we hate eacheother more than our enemies.

Exactly My point. Somalis as indivudiuals are brilliant but their cuqdad, envy, xaasidnimo, cadowtinimo amongst themselves coupled with the fact that they lack the ability to let their brain overcome their emotions. The problem is the Somali culture. Sure Somalis are smart, they have doctors, businessmen, entrepenauers but when it comes to stuff like Nation building or having the ability to break bread with a fellow Somali for the greater good they become dumber than a rock. Case in point look at How Somalis fatten up the economies of Kenya, South Africa, Uganda while those Nationas Economic growth and GDP go up due to Somali contributions and investment, while back in Somalia people are poor. The Somali businessman in those Countries will obey and follow every Government regulation in the book. When its time for Him to obey a another Somali all the sudden He becomes some sort of burcad psyco willing to fight. Really our Culture is a major problem and until that starts to change (the bad parts of it, not the good parts) We are gonna be in trouble. About Your point with South Korea I agree, Somalia's troubles can be fixed very quickly but first things first.

A little known fact about South Korea is that right after the Korean War and continiously, the US government sent the country aid money in hopes that they build infrastructure as well as develop their agriculture and industrial sectors. With US aid, technology companies even emerged. Thirty years later, South Korea no longer becomes a recipient of US aid and now has one of the world's largest economies and is one of the richest countries in the world.

South Korea's success today is purely thanks to US aid. It is also thanks to the hard work ethic of the Korean people.

This country has ZERO natural resources and at the same the savings rate was very low.

It all depends on how your country is managed. Virtually all countries that are on aid today have been on aid for decades and they are still going no where. This is purely cause of corruption.

How much billions has Somalia received? Where is it? I dont see it.

But I am very still optimistic
