Those places are like 98% Bantu, you do not find any normal Somali there.

^ That picture is actually from Jamaame, not Beletweyn. Beletweyn is a lot drier. Marereey itself is not far from Jamaame, probably a few short hours drive max, there's someone here who owns farms there though.

This would've been a grand achievement for Somalia if the war hadn't erupted. Fanole project was almost complete.

Mareereey is inhospitable dense terrain that is very humid & green. Very few non-Bantu Somalis lived there and still do.

Gees Gaduud which is on the opposite side of Jilib towards Balad-ul-amin and en route to Baraawe had large Somali populations, mostly Sheikhaal.

We prefer the name Reer Gosha.:lol:

The closest Absame comes to this area is Bu'aale which is easily 200+ miles to the Northwest of Jilib. :D
