The closest Absame comes to this area is Bu'aale which is easily 200+ miles to the Northwest of Jilib.
For now on Mareereey is Reer Garaad town.

My family's farm it located at Mareeray and although the floods devastated our land, it is doing really well now because of all the money we have invested since then. Puntland oil revenues should help "Southern Puntlanders" dominate Southern Somalia agricultural industry.

^Puntland petrodollar will be welcome in Jubbaland until we explore our own offshore oil, and depending on ur loyalty through a test period, we will allow you guys to hold duel state citizenship
JK
Insha'allah Somalia oo dhan should invest in the area as major crop producing hub, enough to feed the country and also export to arabaha and neighboring countries.

A lot of PLers are going to be hungry for fresh, exotic foods. Cut the Hiiraan folks out and ship to PL at a brotherly discount.Amilla wrote:My family's farm it located at Mareeray and although the floods devastated our land, it is doing really well now because of all the money we have invested since then. Who said Mareerey is not an Absame land; Walee waa yaab??? Dadku ma waalin yihiin!!! People can write whatever they want but I can assure you that Mareerey is BahGeri and Bartire city...90% of the Mareerey sugar Factory were Ogaden because they are the locals. Just look at the name; does it sound to you like a Bantu name? Do Bantus know what mareer is? Plus wherever there are Ogaden in Jubaland, you will find Gosha people because Ogaden and Gosha are the original settlers of Jubaland; just look at this Diisow folklore dance and see how many Bantus are in there in Afmadow:

why is this topic posted here, this is a Jubaland topic and should be posted in Gedo section where the largest Reer Jubaland on the site post. By the way Jilib is Ogadeen, Reer Gosha land, there is no question about that.

Goddamn, an uplifting topic has been destroyed by mental midgets and other assorted retards.
AND WHY THE FUCK IS THIS IN PL SECTION? IS MAREREEY IN PUNTLAND? This is a topic concerning all Somalis!!

Has any of you claiming it belongs to Absame ever been to Gosha? How the fuck can Absame that neither do large scale subsistence farming, nor fish the rivers ever survive in the freaking equivalent of the Amazon? With mosquitos the size of baseballs, and flesh eating fleas swarming every corner of every square inch? How can camels survive in such climate? When it rains non-stop weeks at a time? With humidity easily in the 90% for months on end? Ma la iska hadlaayaa? Absame already has enough lands to make something out of without claiming other peoples lands. Umaddaan masaakiinta ah who have lived and farmed these lands ha la dhaafo. They're the only segment of our society who know the land and know what it takes to live in it. It's a no brainer. Neither Absame, nor any other clan except the Mushungula & a tiny Sheikhaal minority can claim this land.
Btw - mareereey is a common plant in these parts, thus the name.

^are you Koronto91?
Re: Puntland Oil can rebuild This (photos)
Yes.
We lived in Jilib when I was around 8-9. Very few ethnic Somalis lived there. Most were there for the Mareereey processing plant & later the Fanole project. Only someone who has seen the place and has witnessed what it takes to survive in it can claim whatever they want. Snakes, mosquitos, ticks, fleas, crocks, etc. If the malaria doesn't kill you, the fleas & ticks will kill your camels. The Chinese workers brought there for the dam fared better than most ethnic Somalis that weren't native to the region. Reer Gosha were very adapted & settled. They farmed & fished. They knew their environment very well and thrived. Malaria? Never an issue for them, because they knew what river fish to consume & what plants to light up, etc to keep the mosquitos away. While we never slept a night without a net. Camels can not survive in such environment. The river divided the two camps. On one side were the Reer Gosha & Kun Yaasiin ku mood, the other side was settled by smaller population of ethnic Somalis who farmed, raised chickens, etc. I know this land.
