You are generalising Mr. Biko. There are many women who are raped and although there are some innocent people in jails there are also some guilty ones. Rape is probably one of the worst crime witnessed by society. Many of us are not accused of rape. It is time for us somalis to stop protecting and making excuses!

Could be Leila, but the statistics speak volumes; harsher sentencing like three strikes and you are out, death penalty and longer jail terms have not resulted in a significant reduction of crime or criminal/per capita in countries such as the USA. I am for a humanistic approach; the criminal is a sick individual and as such needs some rehabiliation. Furthermore, in most cases there are underlying issues that should be addressed. These include poverty, discrimination, drug abuses, the problem of equity and mental problem.
