Party Principles
The following party principles describe the core beliefs and values of the Tayo Political Party. We are proud to adopt these principles based on the belief of a Somali state that values economic, social and political security, opportunity and equality for all citizens, and respects both the human rights of the individual and the sanctity of life in a fair and just society. To that end:
We believe that Somalia needs a strong private sector economy to reduce reckless competition for power and resources;
We believe that Somalia deserves leadership that guides society to a prosperous and peaceful future;
We believe that Somalis should be left to manage their own state affairs and to reconcile their differences through local and traditional means;
We believe that the best government is one that is efficient, yet understanding—a government that is based not on systems or bureaucracies, but on people, ideas and values;
We believe there is no substitute for fair and equal representation and strong public participation in a government chosen through elections;
We believe in a government that advocates for Somali citizens - that listens, understands and addresses their concerns;
We believe that all of our citizens reap benefits when we, as a nation, meet our challenges together;
We believe in the equality of all of our citizens and condemn the use of clan-ism, nepotism, gender biases and all forms of discrimination;
We believe in a society that strengthens families and protects the elderly our children;
We believe in the rights of all citizens to achieve economic security;
We believe in a society that puts the health, safety and prosperity of its citizen’s first;
We believe in a society that values community and protects all citizens from violence and crime;
We believe in a society that protects women, children and elders, who deserve the right to live a peaceful and prosperous life;
We believe in pursuing these ideals peacefully, with honesty and integrity and respect for the Somali Constitution and the Islamic faith.
