Re: DO WE HAVE ANY COMPUTER NERDS?
This is a physical problem. It happened one day to my family friend. So she told me my monitor screen is black. I checked in the back. I find out that the adapter of the computer is loose. So I push it in. The monitor lights on. So make sure all the adapters are in place well. The other thing if the computer is on and the monitor is off. Then there is something wrong in the screen. Use your common sense to make sure what is going on? Make your best judgement. One more thing never expect be solved by theory until you see and touch the real stuff.

Re: DO WE HAVE ANY COMPUTER NERDS?
afisoone, thanks..
also I just noticed down in the bottomright hand, after you run it for a while, the screen turns black. I noticed that if you press on it, that it takes the black away, but it’s EXTREMELY hot; any idea what is causing this?
I think I sort of fixed my display turning black. Maybe...

Re: DO WE HAVE ANY COMPUTER NERDS?
I don't really have any useful solutions but normally when I am stumped by technology, dhirbaaxo kulul ayaan dhag kaga siyaaa, whether it's a TV, a laptop, destop whatever. If that still don't work, I make my way over to a shop to get it checked. I picked up the slapping habit from my interaction with an old hitachi tv that we had back home...sometimes, the image on the screen would start down and would only stop when you slapped it up a couple times.
Re: DO WE HAVE ANY COMPUTER NERDS?
You might want to tell us how long this problem started? From the description, it looks like you mentioned one of the symptoms of a dying blacklight. If your laptop is under warranty, then I wouldn't open up the laptop but send it to the HP center otherwise it's easy to replace a blacklight and/or inverter, DIY (Do-It Yourself).1nemansquad wrote:HP laptop display turning black, if I look hard enough I can still see the screen but its black and

he is right you have disassemble the computer, then disconnect and reconnect the LCD screen wiring, you have to be careful tho, one wrong move and you have a paper weight.afisoone wrote:This is a physical problem.
