I didnt say or mean there.I am sorry u got offended.Poor choice in comparison but all i meant was people who dont want to live next to a gun collector should have the choice to know.

The police are carrying to protect the citizens and are licensed in doing so. I just rather not have ma neighbour having a gun collection if i dont feel safe and comfortable around them.

Most officers keep a gun in their home. Same goes for others licensed to own or carry one. And that's a pretty decent percentage of the populous.

There's not liking guns, and sharing your opinion on it. Heck, you can even advocate for the banning of all guns. But to suggest all gun owners should be known and publicly registered is both narrow minded and prejudicial. About 10% of Canadians own at least one firearm. That's 3 million folks you've just asked to be named, labeled, and publicly filed as causes for concern and probable sources of danger.

Gun registry is a serious political issue.

Lets leave those licensed to carry guns out of it.The police etc are not who we are talking abt here.

It is the general public.I am actually surprised u r calling ma opinion narrow minded because i would rather have a gun free community where every Jane and John will keep one under their pillow.Maybe asking for a registry is a bit extreme.

Currently, everyone who owns a gun is licensed to do so. Their guns are documented and traceable. That is the registry. What you're asking for is a publicly accessible database of all gun owners, in order to determine how safe a neighbourhood is. That is prejudice.

Why not call for a public registry of all individuals who've ever bought alcohol, in order to feel safer while driving on the road? Or dog owners?

Among those documented and traceable guns,how many are used in crimes by someone rather than the owner?

Drunk drivers are usually trying to get home from an event.

What does it matter, if the guns are used in crimes or not? Criminals will always find a way to get their hands on a gun, regardless of however many laws there are impeding ownership.
