The cost of one share of the company. The company has tens of millions of shares of stock, and each one will cost between that amount.

yea that's the price of one share, however you will probably have to pay some broker fee's and what not.

There's no point in buying a single share if you're trying to make real money.

Well depends what you want to do.

You can buy stocks in hope that the price will increase. When it increases you sell the stock and make the profit out of that. Like say you bought the stock for 35 dollars a share, it reaches 40 dollars, you then sell and make a profit of 5 dollars per share.

The other option is to hold on to the stock and get paid dividends on it (not all stock offer dividends). This means that every year the company will pay a dividend of x amount of dollars per share. Usually it's not much about a dollar or so per share.

may be If I invest $20,000 and that is; let's say 1000 stocks and each stock I earn $10 dollor profit. That is that is $10,000 dollar profit on the spot... I can also loose $10,000 dollar on the spot... Really it is a challenge investment... thanks shirib...
