Mauritius has inked a deal with... Puntland to start to transfer convicted pirates to Somali prisons, paving the way for the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2015 which proposed a system under which pirates jailed abroad could be transferred to Puntland's prisons. Through the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the EU has donated $10 million to help Puntland's efforts to build and modernize prisons.
