Well it turns out the owner{s} of the Chicago Cubs deny them entry at the stadiumgroup of fans of the Chicago Cubs has come up with an idea they hope will break the legendary curse on their favorite professional baseball team and raise money for charity at the same time. The group is walking across the country to cure the curse and cancer.
WJBC reports that the group consists of five male Cub fans a goat named Wrigley. The story of the Cubs curse goes that the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago placed the curse on the Cubbies when he was denied admission to the 1945 World Series because he wanted to bring his goat in with him. That’s why the curse bears the so-called name “Curse of the Billy Goat” and is why the men are traveling with Wrigley.
The men are walking 25 miles a day and have been making their way to Chicago from Mesa, Arizona for the past 88 days. Kyle Townsend, one of the five men, said: “We are all kind of used to (walking). We’ve gotten past the blisters.” He did say that they were second guessing their quest after the third day of waling through the Arizona desert.

In addition to curing the curse, the men are raising money to help find a cure for cancer. Donations can be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle through the website http://www.crackthecurse.com, created for the walk the group has undertaken. Kyle reports that as they passed through Bloomington-Normal yesterday (5/22) they had raised over $12,000 for the research center.
Kyle hopes that Cubs owner Tom Rickets will help out with their idea to cure the curse by lifting the ban on goats at Wrigley Field when they reach the ballpark next week. While it looks unlikely that the goat ban will be lifted, Tom did help the men with their quest to cure cancer. “We talked to Mr. Ricketts on Opening Day when he gave us $2,800,” Kyle said, adding, “He just reiterated that they do have a strict policy against goats. But that was way back on Opening Day.”
No matter whether Wrigley the goat is allowed into Wrigley Field or not, you have to give them men credit. They came up with a creative way to try and cure the curse and they have raised money for a great cause at the same time. Good Luck to them on achieving all of their goals.

Well done boys .
