Well I never really liked Gar Guduud but I didn't think he called for suicide bombings.

Talking to some people you would think that Somalia's problems started when Al Shabaab entered the arena. Al Shabaab hasn't done anything new, they might have magnified it, but they've pretty much been copy cats

I thought that too. I guess it was just a neat way to packup a problem. Damn I really did get duped.

so here's a little something, war in Somalia started in 1991, Al Shabaab came into existence 2007. That's 16 years where we managed to kill ourselves, starve ourselves, and deny ourselves of basic human rights before Al Shabaab came into existence. And unless we get our act together, we'll go back to that once Al Shabaab leaves. They're a nice scapegoat but Al Shabaab are just one small part of the problem, they don't come close to being the problem.

Lets say a lone man rushed into a NATO military base and attempts to kill as many soldiers as possible, with the eventuality of him being shot and killed. Of course this is all hypothetical but would 'said' person be a martyr?
