If you want to memorize the translation of the Qur'an.

Post by The`Republic »

Use this source. So far I have memorized the entire Juz Cama by heart in English translation.

http://understandquran.com/resources/tr ... glish.html

p.s. Quite surprised @ the number of words borrowed by Somali language. At least 30-45% of the words come into regular use in Somali.

p.s.s. If you memorize the translation of Juz Cama, you will have memorized 80% of the words used in the rest of the Qur'an.

If you have an android, download the app: iQuran.

Multi-language translation, Qu'ran script and recitations in Arabic.

Samadoon, for a kid in America I memorized a large part of the Qur'an but I neither retained much nor can understand much. It is 2012 and while having access to both technology and living in a non-Muslim society I have to prioritize for the most productive effort in learning the Deen. To this effect I think learning the transiation while memorizing as well in Arabic is the best of my time. Can you imagine for the first I know what Juz cama is and can comprehend what I say in prayer? What's better than that?

The site has many languages to choose from, so if one wants to memorise the Quran in Arabic he/she can do so.

Iphone also has differnt Quran apps , as well as apps for Riyad us Saliheen, Hadith qudis, sahih bukari etc.etc. However the site provided by Republic is good way of learing the Quran as it provides tips for remembering words and lessons on grammar.

Horta can one memorize the Koran in another language and then recite it like the Arabic one from memory? I think that's pretty hard coz I've never heard of Christians who memorized the Bible yet.

May be it's one of the miracles of the Koran that it can easily be memorized and recited from memory in Arabic.

Edit: Westy, you memorized chapters of the Koran in English and recited it from memory just like the Arabic one? That's amazing, though it kinda sounds weird, I think.

I think you're right. I was just going to ask OP whether it was harder to memorize in English than Arabic than just realized how silly that sounded.

It would definetly be easier to memorize translation in Somali than English though, since many of the words are borrowed. :)
