North Sudanese

As ignorant as this will sound I only saw Omar Al-Bashir on TV a few weeks ago. Before then I had never thought of what "North Sudanese" people look like, it was of no interest to me. But since there's this Arab v. African dynamic in politics I assumed they looked Middle Eastern lakin these folks look typical East African!

So then it dawned on me that all those Sudanese people I've met in the past who I assumed were from the South because they looked African to me, were actually from the "Arab" North!!

the Northern Sudanese people come from more than 600 tribes...their look can range from Arab to mixed to eastafrican to negroid looking. Very beautiful people inside and out.

MOST NORTH SUDANESE PEOPLE ARE MIXED WITH NUBIAN AND ARAB.
BUT THERE ARE OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS IN NORTH SUDAN LIKE THE BEJAS(ALSO IN EGYPT AND ERITREA) WHO ARE RELATED TO SOMALIS, OROMOS, AFARS AND OTHER CUSHITIC GROUPS

I watch their TV a lot (mainly for the fashion, their ladies dress beautiful) and they do have a lot of 'madow' looking ones, so to put. Though, they also have very East African looking ones, some mixed with Arabs etc. It is a big country, that's why they have such variety of looks.

I don't believe they are really Arabs, if that was the case the whole of East Africa would be, but in their defence, the 'Arab' is the one who speaks it, and North Sudan definitely qualifies.

I'm guilty of watching Sudani channels also.. You're right they do dress lovely.. But I aint feeling the heavy make-up..

Just like a Somali family,looks can vary within a Sudanese family even,complexion-wise for instance. Some of my childhood friends and neighbours were Sudanese,nice people in general.

I am not saying they are horrible people ya'll I've met a few and they seemed pretty decent I just didn't think of them as any less African than all the other Africans I know

The only reason you never knew how North Sudanese looked like it because they don't look like Hutus. The Northern Sudanese people have a lot in common with the Daarods in East Africa, their looks, their religious practices and their God-given gift to form and maintain Dawladnimo.

Since you are darood and you are in this topic, do you think of yourself as an Arab?
