Some good things I JUST have to say about MSB

Siad Barre, was the only head of state to attend Mozambique's independence celebrations.

MSB also sent martial reinforcements to assist the government of Samora Machel against Rhodesian and Portuguese forces. Rhodesian guerrillas in Maputo at the time "bragged to Portuguese correspondents that Somali tanks will be used in future operations against Ian Smith’s forces.

- In their struggle against the Rhodesians, Zambia appealed to other African countries for military support. On the 27th of June 1977, President Kenneth David Kaunda speaking to a crowd of Zambians in Lusaka announced that Somalia's armed forces were prepared to aid his country against the Rhodesians. Somali Air Force pilots stood on standby to fly Zambian Migs in case of a war.

MSB lent support to various anti-colonial movements, including the rebellion in South Africa against that country's then ruling apartheid government.

- As chairman of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) in 1974, a rotating seat, MSB invited the ANC as an equal member and gave them a platform to have their voices heard.

MSB also trained South African guerillas and gave them access to military hardware and naval assets

.(Sadly he also sent SA mercenary pilots to blow up HRG)

MSB aka Af-Libaax. :D
Lol @ blow up Hergeisa. Few militia used civilian homes as shields. I believe every government has a responsibility to eliminate any threat to National Security in any way possible.

Gartay. Thug, let me make it a little more clearer. SNM took over half of Hergeisa and controlled it for few weeks or few months (I think). In that time, they killed Government employees and other people they disliked.

Let's put that scenario in a recognized Somaliland. Let's say a Anti-Somaliland rebels took over Burco, killed every Somaliland government employee and killed anyone they didn't like in that city. Let's say they are controlling it for 2 months.

What would you do, if you were the president?

I'm stay on topic. You mentioned that Siyaad Barre bombed his own civilians. But, let's look at the SNM side. They invaded a peaceful city, knowing fully that the Government would retaliate with military force. Now, if they care about the civilian population, why would they invade a peaceful city, knowing the outcome would be devastating? SNM could've chosen it's battles wisely. They could've had a fight with Government forces in the country side/outskirts, but instead they went into peaceful towns and used the civilians and homes as shields.

I asked you a hypothetical question. You threw it out as "it serves me no purpose". Isn't that hypocritical on your part, sxb?

Seeing as you want to pursue it the SNM didn't come out of a vacuum
They had legitimate grievance and they used the classic guerrilla tactics to to achieve their aims.
It was down to the ruling gov to use tact to win back the hearts and minds of the local population by appearing to at least seem like they wanted to talk with the SNM rather just bomb bomb bomb everything that moved
