Good article, but I have no sympathy for anyone who lives on credit and rides a bubble, which is all Dubai is - one massive loan.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't bat an eye had the entire Khaleej been set ablaze. I'm afraid Arabs have made me racist.

Around late 2005 early 2006 I had a dinner with a Somali lecturer who teaches finance and heads business school, we talked number of things , our conversation turn in to real estate, we talked the real estate sector of number of countries then I mention Dubai, he looked at me kept quite for a while then said "Dubai is a time bomb" he continue and said if u forget everything else Including date and mismanagement, who will live in this building? The office and residential space available is 10 times more the space needed.

At that tyme was still a student, and most of what he said didn't made that sense to me then came the financial crisis in 2997/8 and the rest is history.
