Those who say Saudi Never helps Somalia

Post by TeAmo »

Last year's famine Saudi raised $42m which is more than 160 million Saudi Riyals.

People like Dr Yalaxow and Djibsomali need to read this and the rest of our fellow Muslim Saudi brothers haters.

The Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of Somali People has raised more than 160 million Saudi Riyals ($42 million) in addition to tons of food and housing and medical supplies since it was launched Monday.

King Abdullah kickstarted the fundraising campaign with a personal donation of 20 million SR ($5.3 million); the Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz donated 10 million SR ($2.6 million) and Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz donated 5 million SR ($1.3 million).

Thousands of citizens also raised millions of Saudi Riyals in a mobile phone donation scheme set up by STC mobile network. Sports club also participated in the campaign such as Al Hilal, Al Itihad, Al Ahli, Al Chabab and Al Nasr, each donating 100 thousand SR ($26,000).

The campaign received a boost after Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, who, with his family, donated 100 thousand SR, issued a Fatwa on the permissibility of giving Zakat to the poor in Somalia.

The campaign was extended to Tuesday after which the donations will be sorted and distributed to the warehouses of the ministry of the interiorfrom where they will be quickly delivered to the Somali people.
