The respect I have for this man is unreal. Although I wasn't alive to see the president, I have massive respect for him. May Allah forgive him for his sins and have mercy on him and reward him for all the good he has done and forgive all the bad ameen ya rab Is it a little obsessive that I actually occasionally remember him in my duas? I hear fascinating stories about Somalia when he was a leader from my aunties, I have been shown videos and photos of how my homeland used to be and of the great MSB by my parents I swear they have like a collection of it and it makes me cry every time I watch it. I remember when my uncles friend that used to work for MSB back in the days was having a conversation with my uncle time ago about Somali history and he said "although we hated MSB for certain reasons including qabil we respected him and respect him till this day". Nolow MSB and Nolow Somalia It's so sad to see how strong and united we were back then and how we are now.
There is this man that lives in a old peoples home near my house that I go to, to visit this Barwani lady that is a family friend that lives there. The man is an old cadaan man and he always looks at me and smiles and then one day he came up to me and said are you from Somalia? I replied yes and this man started telling me stories about Somalia. He even had pictures and videos of his holidays there with his kids. There's also this old cadaan guy who was an ex soldier who served in Somalia who lives near me. I always see him in the bus, he asked what country I was from and when I told him, he started telling me how he was an ex soldier and served in Somalia and started telling me how it had beautiful beaches and how the women were beautiful and loyal ever since then this man would always say hi to me and ask me how I'm doing but I havent seen him lately.
Anyway watch this video of our great MSB AUN May Allah give us another leader like him and better
Did he use to enforce shariah law? All the women used to be naked and follow jahil traditions. Alchohol use was widespread and even brothels!!! Even some sheikhs were executed!!! Now in Somalia alhmadullilah all women wear jilbaab or niqaab and there`s economic development unparalleled to the times of socalist marxist, communism. For example in the city of kismaayo today everybody goes to mosque and prays 5 times salat, when it is salat time the road is empty. alhamdullilah there is no more communism.

It's not like MSB forced the women to dress like that and forced people to drink alcohol that was up to them. The only reason Somali's are religious now is coz they saw what hardship can be like and people dying around them. As for the shiekhs being excuted I'm sure it wasn't totally MSB fault and if he did have something to do with it people make mistakes. He did good and bad, every leaders has a good and bad side. What does people not praying back then have to do with him? It's not like he forced them not to pray.
no you are wrong 100% he introduced scientific socialism to Somalis and promoted a lifestyle which leaned towards atheist doctrines of communism like Marx, lenin and other leaders of kufr in russia. the people followed his advice and abandoned their deen and honour. how come in the 1960s the people were not as wicked, alcholism and brothels were not widespread during that period.
according to VOA 93% of somalis want shariah law, such statistics and a shift in thinking would be near impossible under the barre regime.
You have to learn to think critically and not be spoonfed lies by your parents. if his regime was so good as you proclaim Allah would indeed have preserved it but unfortunately no, the USC destroyed it and sent it into the dustbins of history.
and you have to remember nepostism, and state sanctioned tribalism was always rife as soon as Somalis ventured unto the path of modern secular state, especially in the 1960s. I have to give credit where credit is due as soon as the regime seized power tribalism did not seep into the administration until after the 1977 Ogaden war. which is the biggest mistake barre ever made, it led to a complete and utter collapse of the Somali National Army, it ruined morale, it sowed the seeds of tribalism when the army showed increased dissent against barre. he took action which was detrimental to the cohesion of the National armed forces, any nation which has a fragmented armed forces is doomed to fail. this start with the defection of Col. Abdullahi Yusuf and other Majeerteens who then sought aid from Ethiopia all of this was due to the lack of financial and political clout from the barre regime. this is when the ruthless red berets cracked down on political pacificts who did not resort to violence yet the regime silenced them with violence. also you have to remember the regime at around the late 70s started losing alot of support from Somalis due to the lack of representation and Barre had to increasingly rely on his clan. this turned into snowball the isaaqs started to be cracked down on Mjs wells were poisoned there was alot of dhulm and the road to somali civil war already started. the ikhwaanis were ready to rumble, the hawiye were already organizing themselves in rome and india.
alot of things went wrong and there were crucial foreign policy failures like the failure to secure any financial or military aid from the united states after the soviet union (rightfully so) cut off all ties with the increasingly erratic barre regime.
everything wasn`t roses and flowers wallahi. learn your history and stop living in a fantasy. we youth need to look to islam and shariah law and following the commands of Allah so we don`t make same mistake as our elders.
Granpa he was harsh on the Somalis which was good because Somali's are uncivilized people everybody knows that if they are not dealt with harshly they will ruin everything they see take Somalia for example.
As for him being a communist I support communism but not to the degree that religion is deserted. Communism was the solution to Somalia and I believe it still can be. Look at what wanting Shariah Law has done to the country it made a terrorist group Al Shabab. I'm not saying Shariah is bad I support it but leave that to when the claphite returns. Somalia as well as other corrupt Muslim nations can't handle Shariah because they will misuse it and when people disagree they will form terrorist groups.
The only reason the Regime fell I believe is because Somali people are stupid and don't appreciate a good leader and it has gotten them to living in a 3rd world shit hole for 20 plus years. I believe the only reason these rebel groups started forming is due to individual needs and clanism. Nearly every clan had a rebel group.
The Ogden war wasn't a mistake it was just poorly organised and planned. He did the right thing by trying to liberate ogdenia he should have just put more thought to it anyway I still think he was great
Te Amo dont get me started we are in this mess because of him not to mention the reason why somalilanders have huge cuqdad towards reer konfuur all because of him AUN anywayz

Very good points. Somalia was going to become bankrupt if a civil war didn't happen... the country was headed towards economic collapse since it was under the IMF/World Bank loan structual adjustment programs after being broke post-Ogaden war. Plus there was the looting of the central bank in the late 80s/early 90s... so, Somalia was doomed to fail after 1977

Communism is never the answer. Free market capitalism with absolutely no government intervention whatsoever or the country will collapse. It's as simple as that.
