Many countries place all their eggs in a single event while those that have the resources diversify and enter multiple athletes into as many events as they can. This not only increases the chances of success but also increases the potential number of GOLD medals.

Perhaps we could encourage interest by having a Shanta-Somali Bi-annual olympics to include as many events as possible.

Maybe even have some cultural events like Dhanto, Camel racing, spear throwing, etc...

It would improve relations and give us all a break from bloody politics and many organisations already exist that will happily assist with funds for equipment and travel costs. I am sure many in the diaspora would happily sponsor potential talents without outside funding. We also have many companies that can sponsor talent.

Athletics alone we could submit members for 1500, 5000, 10,000 and Marathon where somalis have already proven our superiority.

Who would dominate these Solympics...

Athletics without a doubt.First because a lot of the youth will be inspired by Farahs win
Secondly Somalis,just like Kenyans and Ethiopians are built for mid/long distance running
With all the Somalis that are in the west and the opportunities at their disposal for training
Will surely produce more winners in these events

Other events have similar endurance requirement that makes the Horners Superior ... Like all things african when will be realise our own resources...
