How ironic. This is one of those times you have to be really superstitious.

As of yesterday, Somalia's TFG government is over; the mandate has ended. Sheikh Sharif is "Former President of Somalia". With the swearing in of the new parliament, the oldest person was voted in as Interim Speaker of Parliament and Head of State of Somalia.

The person who was voted in as Interim Speaker of Parliament and Present Head of State of Somalia was none other than new parliamentarian and decorated Somali military man (the father of very good friends of mine--yes he has children that young) is none other than:

-General Muuse Sh. Hassan Abdille Hassan...nephew of Sayyid Mohammad Abdille Hassan



On the same day, Zenewi perished from the earth.

His wife is the daughter of one of the SYL 13, of the "Sciego" family who are Tunni/Brava and he has been married to her for long time so maybe he picked up the accent from there. I do know he was a ranking member of the Siad Barre government and a decorated '77 war hero. Until recently, he lived in Vancouver, Canada.

His father was the brother of the Sayyid and a commander of the Dervishes as well.

Basically he took over Sharif Sakiin as well as Sheikh Sharif's positions same time when the TFG mandate end yesterday. Right this minute he is both Head of State and Speaker of Parliament of Somalia.

This was the transfer of power from Sheikh Sharif to Gen Muuse

It also gives an example how efficient and capable this new, smaller, and leaner parliament could be if people like Gen Muuse and many other educated and capable Somalis have come back to take legislative roles. No more warlords and illiterate war profiteers.

no bro, but Sayid's grandson ambassator abdullahi sheikh abdulrahman sayid, used to be here long before i was born and many family members are here. so they are very close family friends. they are very down to earth and never brag that their gradpa is the sayid.
