I had to check him cus our friendship was on the line for a sec but im seeing so many comments I would expect from fox news from so called somali youth (70 virgins, Islamic terrorism....) and so much Islamaphobes rhetorics.

This is the most common definition and usage of the word, so no shit he thought terrorist. If you said to your friend we got a good muslim leader who is associated with muslim groups in the country, I guarantee you he would have a very positive reaction.
