Stop calling Shaikh Sharif president

Post by Zuluc »

You are not a president if you need foreign troops to protect you in your own capital, let us not insult the name president we saw in 21 years what a real president was. You are not a real government if you do not even control the areas you claim.

You need to read your history books before posting this kind of thing. This country that I live in had their whole government and military establishment living in London during the World War II. They did not control a square mile of land , yet in the eyes of the world, they were the legitimate government. You can dislike Shariif, but his is the most legitimate of positions. His is a position where all Somalis can compete and hold. His is a position that representatives for all Somalis can vote on. The alternatives are clan enclaves ruled by clan militias loyal to minions ( I have no respect for clan regional governments, even my clans) . I can't recall a modern state where there are so many presidents, or where governors are refered to as president. Get real.

As the leader of ICU/al-Shabaab, Sheikh Sharif didn't need foreign troops for protection. Therefore, he qualifies to be called president.

Actually it is the country of NORWAY; A country that has almost consistently have been among the top 3 among those with the best standard of living. Read something on second World War and you'll be surprised how many countries had their government in exile, who never lost the legitimacy.
