There is magnificent and historic tree in Laas Caanood, and its called Gol Khaatumo

Gol-Khaatumo Grand Conference Laascaanood in June, 1959

Dhulbahante, Warsangali, and Samaroon politicians and traditional leaders led by Garaad Jaamac Garaad Ali Garaad Mahamud, Garaad Maxamuud Cali Shire, the Chief of the Warsangeli, and the traditional leaders of Samaroon met at Gol Khaatumo tree in Laas Caanood in June 1959.

The outcome of this bold political initiative was the founding and the inauguration of the United Somali Party (USP) at Gol-Khaatumo Conference in Laascaanood in June, 1959.

Shut up, its an arabic word. There is also gol-Khaatumo in Las Anod district and Berda Khaatumo in Taleex were the conference took place.

Gol-Khaatumo is were United Somali Party (USP) was founded in 1959 as EastAfrica pointed out.

Well said Executive, There is two areas/neighborhoods in SSC Region, named after the Gol-Khaatumo tree in Laas Caanood, and Berde Khaatumo tree in Taleex.
