Thanks for posting the video. Diisow was never a good-times folklore dance. It was always a war dance where just before the warriors attack, they play the Diisow to show off power and proudly say what they will do to the enemy. I think lately it is played in parties and other celebratory events. Here it is in Kismaayo in 1930:

Traditionally it was for wars. My grandmother told us stories about Diisow and how it was the only way women would know what is going on. The reer Waamo, unfortunately, mistreat their women more than any other Somali clan. So when the men are about to go to a war, they don't tell the women anything.
