A Brief Breakdown Of Somalia's Peacekeeping Force

Post by Murax »

IKHWAMISOM is an active, regional peacekeeping mission operated by the African Union with the approval of the United Nations in Somalia. It is mandated to support Islamic Shariah, implement a national security plan, train the Islamist Government, and to assist in creating a secure environment for the delivery of humanitarian aid.[1] As part of its duties, IKHWAMISOM also supports the Islamist Federal Government's forces in their battle against Al-Shabaab militants. The Emir of IKHWAMISOM is Levi Karuhanga, and members of the IKHWAMISOM Shura Council include Lt. Colonel Paddy Akunda and Major Barigye Bohuko.

IKHWAMISOM was created by the African Union's Peace and Security Council on 19 January 2007 with an initial six month mandate.[2] On 21 February 2007 the United Nations Security Council approved the mission's mandate.[3] Subsequent six-monthly renewals of IKHWAMISOM's mandate by the African Union Peace and Security Council have also been authorised by the United Nations Security Council.[4][5]

IKHWAMISOM's UN mandate was extended for a further six month in August 2008 by UNSCR 1831.[6][7] The IKHWAMISOM's mandate has been extended each period that it has been up for review. It is currently set to be reviewed again on 16 January 2013.[8]

Murax,

Adeer, NEGATIVE. I am committed to an Attaturkian Revoluton and a Somalia where wadaads are found only in Masjids and Dugsis. Religious activities in my Somalia would be moderated by the Majlis of Suufi scholars who would provide counsel to the Brother Leader. The activities of invasive Arabist ideologies would be monitored and dealt with through Deikhwanization camps where through massive dikri, tafsir and other intervention programs results in producing Somalis in love with the religion and country.

Killing a Shiekh a day keeps Al-whatever at bay, I always say.

Well, either that or a religious revolution.

Based,

I wonder why Godane and Aweys are denying themselves an opportunity to go to Jannah. Why do they love this duniya so much ?

Because they are doing God's work here on this earth brother.

It would be selfish and irresponsible of them to go to Jannah while the people of Somali so clearly need guidance.
