Internally they're already dead in other words, I see no purpose of emotionally straining a family any further, the wises decision one can make in this type of dilemma is letting them go.metamorphosis wrote:Assume you have an immediate family member who is lying on a bed and is in a vegetable state would you pull the plug on them or keep them living? Assume also that they have no hope of coming back to the way they used to be. They cant move limps or even breath without the aid of an oxygen masks. What if it were you lying there... Would you want to be let go of or be kept alive? Take of all the burden and the money needed to keep them alive too.
would you pull the plug?

May Allah not give us this imtixan.
But the most painful thing is death. The suffering you are talking about is nothing compared to dying if only you knew. There was this xadith of this dude that died many many years back but was still feeling the pain of death.
May Allah make thisdunia easy for us.

There's nothing to wake up from. They're not in a coma. Their brain is dead.qoraxeey wrote:Shirib wrote:why would you keep them on a machine, which could technically keep her alive for a very long time, neither dead nor alive?qoraxeey wrote:i would never do that my mother , sister or anybody

Re: would you pull the plug?
If I am alone in the decision, and there were no preconceived notions of his/her wishes given that situation, I'd pull it. But, if he/she explicitly wished to be kept for as long as possible, I'd look to cryonics, if resources are available.
